EVERY PROBLEM IS ITS OWN STORY
Telling A Story
People are hardwired to tell and hear stories. The impact of a story depends on its impact on the listener's story. It is not just what has happened to the listener, but most importantly, how the events of the listener's life have been woven into the listener's personal story. People understand themselves and others only within the context of their personal story. Some things matter, some things don't. Some things matter in a good way, some things matter in a bad way.
When you learn how to connect with other people (and their personal story), you will become a powerful influence.
We can help you do that.
Every story inspires, provokes, or does nothing. Your life and every part of it will inspire, provoke, or be of no interest because it is a story - YOUR story. And how you tell your story determines how others react.
Only you can tell your story and only you can change how you tell your story. We can help you tell the story you want others to hear. We will help you understand the best way to tell your story.

THE RULES OF STORY TELLING
Compelling stories tap into the laws governing how people feel, think and behave. Some of those laws are:
1. It's not what you say, it's what others hear.
- Certain words trigger a response that is the opposite of what is desired.
- Other words trigger a need to defend, protect, and help.
2. The first 10 seconds determines what the listener will hear regardless of whatever you say after that first 10 seconds.
- You have about 10 seconds to answer the listener's internal questions:
"Do I care?" and "How much do I care?"
3. People automatically fill in the details to create a "sensible story".
- Adding detail is the exact wrong thing to do.
- Powerful stories contain a few compelling sensible points.
We can help you communicate a compelling story.
